James Naismith the man who created basketball was just a regular teacher,who was teaching at the international YMCA training school.The first basketball game was played with a soccer ball and two peach baskets with nine players on the court from each team.In modern times now only five players can be on the court from each team.Also the goals are made with a backboard,rim,and net now. When a player shoots the ball inside the three-point line it counts as two points,but when the ball is shot outside of the three-point line it counts as three points.If a player violates the rules it's called a foul.If a player fouls someone that is shooting the shooter gets a free throw shot.Free throw shots are worth one point with each shot that is made.
